Arcane Familiars ("the game") is a role-playing game whose saves are kept in the cloud, with an optional online co-op feature.
Accounts. To play you sign in to a game account, either as a guest (an anonymous account with no personal details) or with an email address and a password. Accounts are provided by Firebase Authentication, a Google service. If you create an email account we store your email address so you can sign in again and reset your password; a guest account stores no personal details. Passwords are never visible to us. The game has no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking, and does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or photos.
Game saves. Your progress is stored online in your account, in Cloud Firestore (a Google database), so that it follows you between devices. Nothing is kept on your device apart from your signed-in session. Only your own account can read or change your save. The save contains in-game information only: your Spellbinder name, familiars, items, progress, and settings. Uninstalling the game does not delete your save.
The game’s server. The game’s own server (run on Cloudflare) checks every save and runs the shared online realm: world chat, trades, Surprise Trade, the Market, the Trading Hall, Circles, elite hunts and PVP duels. For these it keeps what each feature needs under your account: your Spellbinder name, your listings and Market lots, familiars waiting to be traded, your inbox, your PVP rating and your Circle membership. If you allow alerts, it also keeps a notification token for each of your devices.
You can delete your account and everything stored with it from inside the game: on the title screen choose ACCOUNT, then DELETE ACCOUNT. Email accounts confirm with their password; every account confirms by typing DELETE. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. It removes your sign-in, your saved game, your account record and device list, and on the game’s server your listings, Market lots, waiting trades, inbox, rewards not yet claimed, PVP rating and board place, and your Circle membership (a Circle you led passes to its longest-standing member). Messages you posted in the world chat are not linked to your account and drop out of the chat history as new ones arrive.
If you can no longer open the game, email us from the address on the account (or tell us your Spellbinder name if you played as a guest) at the contact address below, and we will delete it within 30 days.
Online co-op (optional). If you choose to host or join a Rift raid online:
Co-op raid traffic is not stored.
Children. The game is suitable for all ages. A child can play as a guest without giving any personal details; an email address is only ever asked for when creating an email account.
Changes. If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address with a new date.
