Which starter to choose
Arcane Familiars: Verdant Grimoire lets you choose SPROUTLE (VERDANT), EMBERCUB (INFERNAL) or PUDDLET (TIDAL) in Willow Town. Against the bosses of the first act, PUDDLET has the easiest time: its line hits 10 of their familiars for double damage, and 4 of them hit it for double. Your rival always takes the starter that beats yours.

Each starter as it grows by the level of each fight. Every starter can finish the game: the other two only need a teammate that covers their weak fights.
